Named for its size and many islands, Thousand Island Lake is spring-fed, clear and deep, the largest of the famous Cisco Chain of 15 Lakes. The Cisco Chain abounds with walleye, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, lake trout, musky, and pan fish. All 15 lakes and 271 miles of wooded scenic shoreline are accessible by boat.














Sylvania Wilderness Area of the Ottawa National Forest

It offers 21,000 acres of virgin timber and over 30 additional lakes and streams. Sylvania Wilderness Area offers canoing, swimming, picnicking, hunting, fishing, hiking, and unsurpassed natural scenic beauty.

Wildlife

A wide variety of animals may be seen in the wild such as the white-tailed deer, black bear, raccoon, beaver, otter, muskrat, porcupine, skunk, coyote, fox, wolf, chipmunk, and squirrel. A variety of water and forest birds in their natural habitat include, the great American Bald Eagle, osprey, loons, ducks, heron, hawks, and owls.

Other Attractions

Other attractions include Lake Superior, the breathtaking Porcupine Mountains with their Lake of the Clouds, Lake Gogebic, Agate Falls, and Bond Falls.


Each Cottage Comes with Boat

A fourteen foot Lund aluminum boat is furnished with each cottage. Deluxe fishing boat packages, a pontoon boat, motors, additional boats and canoes are available for rent. Licenses, bait, gasoline and oil can be purchased at the resort.

On-site Recreation

Recreational facilities on site include swings, merry-go-round and climbing gym for the kids and a horseshoe pit, picnic areas and swimming for the young and old alike. A golf course and quality restaurants are close by.

Winter Activities

In the winter snowmobilers have access to the Western U.P. trail system directly from their door and cross-country skiers can enjoy miles and miles of cross-country trails in the nearby Sylvania Wilderness Area of the Ottawa National Forest. The 5 downhill ski resorts of Big Snow Country are about an hour away. And for those really rugged fishermen there's the chilling sport of Ice Fishing!

The Cisco Chain of Lakes is made up of 15 lakes with over 271 miles of scenic shoreline. The lakes are dotted with many islands for picnicking and the spring-fed waters offer excellent fishing for walleye, northern pike, muskies, bass and pan fish. The current state record musky was caught in Thousand Island Lake in 1980.

How can i book?

Where they are located?

Jay's Resort is located in the rugged country of the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan. A pristine wilderness with lakes and fresh air for your summer vacation and plenty of snow to enjoy the winter snowmobiling or skiing.

From Mackinac Bridge, follow US-2 to four miles west of Watersmeet-turn left on Thousand Island Lake Road at mile marker 50 follow for 8.5 miles.

From Milwaukee follow US-41 and 141 to US-2, then west to 4 miles past Watersmeet, turn left on Thousand Island Lake Road follow for 8.5 miles.

From Chicago, follow I-90/94 north to US-51, continuing on US-51 to six miles north of Woodruff, turn right on County Highway M, 15 miles through Boulder Junction; turn right on County Highway B for 11 ½ miles, then left on Thousand Island Lake Rd for approximately 4.5 miles then right for ½ mile, just follow the signs to Jay’s.

Are the reservations for any day of the year?

•Open year round!!!!!

•Reservations are by the week during the summer season with check-in Saturday at 3 p.m. and check-out Saturday at 9 a.m.

•Private home rental is Friday to Friday during the summer.

•Daily reservations available during non-peak seasons.

•Deposits are due within 10 days of booking.

•Please call early to insure the time and accommodations you and your family need!
